The qualification process
The ModelGolf Program is turn-key and ready to be integrated into qualified facilities. To qualify, facilities must meet the following criteria:
- Teaching: To become a ModelGolf teaching center, you should be an instructor who teaches (or would be willing to teach) at least 130 students a year.
- Facility: Your facility (or facilities if you move during the year) should have the ability to teach year-round. We have outlined the teaching center setup requirements by facility type below.
Types of facilities and recommended setup
Recommended associate/academy teaching center setup
The recommended setup for an academy or associate teaching center is a facility that has year-round outdoor and indoor capabilities. This allows teaching at any time, in any weather. In addition, this setup requires no daily equipment setup. This type of facility will save approximately 50 lessons per year that would have been lost due to bad weather, allow guaranteed lessons to be scheduled during the off- (i.e. snow) season, and save approximately 100 hours per year in setup time. At a lesson rate of $100 per hour, this translates into $15,000 to $30,000 per year in in additional lesson revenue or saved time.

Alternative associate/academy teaching center setup
The alternative setup for an academy or associate teaching center is a facility that has weather-resistant outdoor capabilities. This allows teaching most in-season (all but heavy rain or snow) weather conditions. In addition, this setup requires minimal equipment setup. This type of facility will save approximately 30 lessons per year that would have been lost due to bad weather, and save approximately 50 hours per year in setup time. At a lesson rate of $100 per hour, this translates into approximately $8,000 per year in in additional lesson revenue or saved time.

Daily associate/academy teaching center setup
The portability of the ModelGolf CTS unit enables it to be set up, on a daily basis, on the driving range without any type of permanent facility. The only item required is a 10'x10' tent with sides to protect the CTS unit from the sun and rain. This setup will not allow teaching in inclement weather of any kind, and will require approximately a half-hour setup per day (similiar to any other video system setup on the tee). Many of our current facilities began with this setup, then moved to one of the more desirable facility designs.
Retail store teaching center setup
A retail outlet requires a dedicated indoor teaching facility that is available to their clients on a year-round basis. Due to the permanent indoor nature of these facilities, lessons can be done year-round, with virtually no daily setup time.
