An integrated program keeps students engaged
The ModelGolf instructional program has been taught for over 20 years at golf locations worldwide. One of the main reasons the program has had such staying power is that the improvement process for ModelGolf students is continuous, and not just limited to the practice tee. After every ModelGolf lesson, the student's Personal Improvement Program is updated to reflect the lesson results. Students can access their Improvement Program online at any time. They can take a closer look at their most recent swing analysis, see the progress they've made since previous lessons, and review the problem areas in their swing that the program has identified. The ModelGolf website even recommends drills to address each problem area.
By extending the learning experience to the Web, students remain connected with their improvement program, sustain their interest in improving their golf game, and are more inclined to return to their ModelGolf instructor for additional instruction. ModelGolf's integrated approach fosters stronger ongoing relationships between instructors and their students, with benefits to both.
The Computer Teaching System
The Computer Teaching System (CTS) is used at the teaching location. Its advanced graphics technology allows you to record your student's swing from two digital video cameras simultaneously, build your student’s Model swing, then display the results of your student's performance compared to their Model on the computer monitor in real time. At any point in the lesson the student's swing can be compared to their first swing of the day, using the ModelOverlay to highlight the progress that has occurred.
During the lesson, the CTS compiles your student’s video along with your comments and recommendations. At the end of the lesson, this information is uploaded to your student’s Member area on the ModelGolf website.
The ModelGolf website
The ModelGolf website is the cornerstone of the ModelGolf Program. This is where all the information and resources related to the student's instructional program are maintained. The website processes information provided by the student and input uploaded by the instructor through the CTS to create a comprehensive Personal Improvement Program. The improvement program is very much an active, dynamic process, evolving over time as the student adjusts the areas of focus according to their latest swing analysis.
The advantages of having an online, interactive "workspace" are many. It enables students to study their progress, update their improvement plan, and explore relevant drills at any time. Just as importantly, it's a means for keeping the lines of communication between student and instructor open; i.e., a mechanism for motivating the student to continue their improvement plan with their instructor. This is facilitated by an automated email that the website generates after each lesson on the CTS.
